The Southeast Asia Regional Coordination Mechanism Forum (SRCMF) is a coordinating body of governments, the private sector, and organizations working to end HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria.
It was launched on 30th October 2018 by the GF SEA (Global Fund South-East Asia) Constituency in the Pre-Board meeting held in Yangon. It is incorporated as a national NGO in India on 5th of June 2020 under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013
The countries represented are the 11 countries in the region -Bangladesh, Bhutan, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, India, Indonesia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Timor-Leste.
Member States have been experiencing inadequate coordination in disease control and elimination programmes in the cross border areas, in spite of many meetings at the national and sub-national level. To overcome this problem, the SRCMF as a coordinating body in the region is focussing on the cross border areas.
The broad Scope of SRCMF is to attract investments for the Cross-border areas/ districts of the Member Countries of SEA Region for elimination of HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria along with Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) and Community Support Services. SRCMF as the country support and advocacy platform in SEA is founded on the principles of efficient and effective facilitation and coordination. SRCMF facilitates harmonization of efforts between member countries and fosters partnerships and collaborations with various partners, donors and stakeholders including community and civil society towards acceleration of especially border-relevant responses to reach the ultimate goal of ending malaria.
Inclusive, equitable, synergistic and result-oriented approaches are core values. SRCMF upholds community, rights and gender (CRG) elements with a priority focus on addressing related barriers and inequities.
SRCMF facilitates and convenes regular regional meetings with participation by national programmes, Country Coordinating Mechanisms (CCMs), the GF Board Member & Alternate Board Member for SEA constituency, partners & donors, including the RBM Partnership to End Malaria, WHO, APLMA-APMEN , SAARC , the GF, non-government organizations and other stakeholders.
