Dr Shiva Murugasampillay Public Health Physician & Disease Control and Elimination Specialist Veteran global public health medical specialist. Qualified in medicine and specialized in tropical medicine/infectious disease and public health. With more than 40 years’ experience and expertise as a clinician in district and provincial hospitals. Followed as a national, regional and global public health specialist in development of public health, disease control and elimination projects, programs and system in districts, provinces and national level in Zimbabwe, Southern African Development Community and all three levels of the World Health Organization in Africa(AFRO), South East Asia (SEARO) and Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMRO). Former Senior Adviser and Medical Officer, WHO Global Malaria Program, Geneva, Switzerland and Team leader Malaria-WHO African Region Inter-Country Office for Southern Africa. Founding Director of Epidemiology and Disease Control, Provincial Medical Director-Midlands Province, Medical Superintendent-Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital, Medical Officer of Health-Manicaland province and General Medical Officer/District Medical Officer, Zaka District, Masvingo Province in the Ministry of Health, and Child Care-Zimbabwe. Currently Co- Director Global Public Health. Sarl, Geneva, Switzerland; independently advising and supporting public, faith based, not for profit and private organizations in strengthening public health systems and communicable and non-communicable disease control programs structures, capacity, systems and institutions for renewal of Primary Health Care and scaling up Universal Health Coverage in lien with WHO-3 billion- 2025 and UN-SDG3-2030 health for all targets and goals. Founding member of the Zimbabwe College of Public Health Medicine and Zimbabwe Network for Health in Europe.
