He is a Senior Public Health Official and worked with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India for past 29 years. He has extensive experience of working on surveillance in communicable diseases like HIV, TB, Hepatitis, Malaria and other Vector Borne Diseases including NTDs like Dengue, Leprosy, Visceral Leishmaniasis and Lymphatic Filariasis covering a population of around 1 billion. He has extensive National AIDS Control Organization experience to reduce prevalence of HIV in the high-risk population of India and setting up HIV Surveillance and estimations of HIV in India with a vast experience of working with different stakeholders, including UN agencies, Bilateral Donors, Global Technical and Financial Organizations and Philanthropic Organizations. He is a Member of various Technical Committees at the National and International levels and headed large projects like HIV, Malaria and as Resident Director, CGHR, University of Toronto.
