Dr Krongthong Thimasarn, graduated from Siriraj Medical School, Mahidol University, Thailand and received Master degree in Public Health and Tropical Medicine from Tulane University, USA. She worked for the Thai Malaria Control Programme for 20 years and her last assignment with the Thai Government was the Director, Malaria Division. She spent 13 years serving WHO in various capacities, Roll Back Malaria Mekong Coordinator, Regional Adviser for Malaria of WHO South East Asia Region (SEARO) and Medical Officer Malaria in Myanmar.
She is currently Vice-chair, Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) of Thailand and Chair of the Oversight Committee of the CCM
